Mark Soundy is the co-founder of PriestleySoundy, a different type of law firm focusing on Private Equity and specialising in Management Representation work (acting for senior management teams when their businesses are being bought, sold or restructured by Private Equity sponsors).
A former partner at Travers Smith, Weil, Shearman & Sterling (Global Co-Head of Private Equity) and Goodwin, for more than 30 years Mark has advised leading institutional investors, international businesses and senior management teams. He has long been recognised as a leading individual in Private Equity by all the legal directories. He is a former member of the Legal & Technical Committee of the British Venture Capital Association and a consultant editor of A Practitioner’s Guide to Private Equity. He speaks and writes regularly on issues relating to international M&A and Private Equity. He is admitted to practice in England & Wales, as well as in New York.
Throughout his career, Mark has championed Pro Bono and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. He has been (and remains) involved in a number of charitable and not-for-profit activities. He was the Founder Chairman of the Trinity College (Cambridge) Alumni Advisory Board and the Chairman of the Maclaren Foundation of Summer Fields School. He is a Trustee on the Radley College Foundation and a co-founder of the social media network Radley For Life. He also provides pro bono legal advice to several clients including The Goldie Hawn Foundation UK and We Are Family Foundation UK.
